If you’re really excited over your results with Forex, could be you’re doing it wrong. The main objective with Forex is to gain profits, not to ride a thrill-seeking, emotional roller coaster. If you’re having a great time and feel like you’re shootin’ craps, stop and think about what you’re doing. On the other hand if you’re bored and making money, you’ve probably struck a winning strategy!

Before you get started on the forex market, it’s a good strategy to have a written plan setting out your goals and how you hope to reach them. It should clearly state what your goals are, what percentage of your money you want to risk, how you will deal with losses, and so on. By having your plan written down, it will be easier to stick to it.

Are you finding yourself making the same mistakes time and again when trading on the Forex market? If so, start keeping a Forex journal. Keep track of your positions by date, time and rate. Note down why you chose that position, as well as your strategy for it. Also keep track of the date, time and rate at which you left the position, your profit or loss on it, and whether or not you stuck with your strategy. Eventually, you’ll see patterns emerging. Stick with the successful ones, and avoid the ones that don’t seem to be working for you.

The reason that you cannot rush into anything uninformed, much less the Forex market, is that you will always be in a position to fail. People in a position to fail often do fail. It’s like a universal law. But by learning and applying the tips above, you’ll put yourself in a position to succeed. And, as you may have guessed, people in this position often succeed.
