Doesn’t it fascinate you that something as pure and natural as the wind can cause wind turbines to turn and then generate electricity for use in our homes and businesses?
The reason why wind hasn’t been used on a large scale before is due to the high cost of the turbines, the lack of reliability of the wind and a false dependance on what we perceived as a never ending supply of oil and gas.
The downside to relying on wind is that it is a natural force of nature. It would be like relying purely on rain water to run machines, there could be no guarantees that there would be constant supply and this is one of the biggest problems about adopting wind power in a big way.
